Q If I am experiencing limited range of motion in my neck/head after an accident, how long will it take to regain full range again?

A Your chiropractor will determine a plan after your initial x-rays. This usually requires more frequent visits at first and the visits required will lessen as progress is made.

Q What is subluxation?

A In short, a slight misalignment of the vertebrae.

Q What is the science behind chiropractic?

A Chiropractic is a health care profession concerned with diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the neuromusculoskeletal system. Although some folks are skeptical, research exists regarding chiropractic care.

Q What happens with basic life functions if the bones of my skull are out of place?

A Headaches, hearing and visual balance, digestive disorders and allergies occur.

Q Does chiropractic require an MD referral and do they take insurance?

A A referral is not necessary. Each practice would need to advise you with regard to insurance.

Q How safe is chiropractic?

A Very safe! It is one of the safest treatments for neuromusculoskeletal concerns.

Q Can chiropractic help with carpal tunnel?

A CTS is a pinched nerve in the wrist caused by swelling, a thickening of the tendons. Your doctor can assess your condition to decide if chiropractic care is appropriate for you.

Q My mother had osteoporosis. Can chiropractic help me to avoid it?

A Once bone loss has been established, correction can be made with nutritional changes. Weight bearing exercises would be the best in maintaining bone density. Chiropractic will help replenish energy in muscles that interfere with needed exercise.

Q What can chiropractic do for stress?

A How well your body is working is part of what determines how much adversity you are able to handle.

Q What does sleep have to do with anything relating to chiropractic care?

A If your spine is not aligned properly, you may toss and turn trying to get into a comfortable position for sleeping. Each time you move, there is a chance you will wake up and have trouble getting a full night’s rest.

Q Do you expect me to believe that chiropractic can help me live a longer life?

A It only makes sense that if your nervous system is free of subluxations, the organs in your body (which were made for self-healing) can do their job.

Q Tell me more about nutrition…specifically digestion and IBS issues.

A You may be surprised to find out that once again your nerve system may not work properly with interference due to vertebral subluxation. Regular visits to your chiropractor will help your digestive system. In addition, there are wonderful supplements such as probiotics that help replenish good bacteria in your gut.

Q What about pain spasms and chiropractic care?

A Massage is a complement to chiropractic care. A chiropractor is able to locate where the spasm originates and alleviate this extreme pain.

Q Do you claim that chiropractic helps with my energy level?

A Absolutely. If energy is interfered with because the nerve system is not working up to its fullest potential, your chiropractor offers adjustments as well as nutritional advise and supplements to help replenish a good nerve supply.
